I am pretty happy that I’m going down to Chicago specifically to play an RPG tomorrow (…yes) and the three of us girls playing, who range from pretty damn girly, to might as well have a penis (the latter is me of course), have really badass characters, and none of them is a princess or queen or elf or shit. There’s a barbarian half-orc, a cooking gnome, and a dragon. I’m the dragon, of course. 

Not that a princess or whatever is a bad choice but it’s so…standard? Like that’s what’s in all those kind of fantasy stories - or it’s a half naked chick wielding a sword. So, I mean, I got to wonder, is that actually the standard most of the time? Are we three outliers? If you were going to play this kind of game - and you’re a female - would you go with the princess/queen/elf maiden type character, or would you have no qualms about being a giant rock ogre or something?
